Default Which is better to buy

I’m looking at two carts. One is 2012 EZ GO RXV. Looks pretty clean, it’s street legal. The batteries are shot he says, it will only run 10-15 minutes. Asking $2700

Second one is a Yamaha 2014 48 volt. Fresh off the golf course, original batteries. Says it runs well

This will be my first cart to just run around the lake, smooth paved roads.
Is one better than other any things to be on the lookout for. Any input would be great. Thanks

Love my Yamaha. You can’t go wrong either way. Add $700ish to the RXV for new batteries.

Both will need batteries soon. I am hearing complaints about the Yamaha wet brakes. Not sure what years those are, maybe gctech can tell us.

The stack of discs in the middle are the brakes. They are called "wet" because they live inside the axle, in the oil. They work pretty much identical to a motorcycle clutch.

I prefer the RXV. In my opinion, $2700 is too high for an RXV in need of batteries. Of course that depends upon where you live, and/or where you are searching for a cart at. Higher income areas tend to have higher cart prices. I can buy an as-is 2014 or 2015 RXV, fresh off of lease with original batteries, for about $2k.

I prefer the Curtis equipped RXV (Manufactured after 01/23/2012) myself, but I have converted older Danaher equipped RXVs to the newer Curtis controller. The AC drive of the RXV has good torque and speed capability with just some aftermarket programming. No need to buy performance parts, maybe just a set of larger guage battery cables to allow more current to flow. I think I spent about $45 to make a set of 2 guage cables.

My batteries are finally beginning to show their age as well. I guess 6 years of use is doing really good for the 4X 12V US Battery pack from my 2012 RXV that I had transplanted into my rebuilt 2008 RXV. I guess it's time to install a Lithium pack in that RXV.

Yes I agree that $2700 for RXV is to high. He’s high because he had to buy some new junction electric box that cost him $800 and he wants to recoup that.
