Default Which RXV Motor Brake?

Have a 2009 RXV with Danaher controller. As a precaution, I want to change the motor brake. Any opinions on which of these or others is best:

Reliance Motor Brake
Reliance performance upgrade Motor Brake
HD Switch Motor Brake see:
https://www.amazon.com/IMPROVED-PERF.../dp/B075BRKS6N

Other motor brake?

You want OEM, a Danaher controller does not like an aftermarket HD motor brake. Here's one on eBay from a seller that I've bought them from before...

I was concerned about using an OEM since they had so much trouble with the original motor brake. Even though your link is for an Ezgo product, it is not the same brake Ezgo originally put on the carts is it?

BTW, I have purchased from the guys at that link, I just know them by a different name.

Yea, it is an OEM for the one that replaced the troublesome lever brake used on the 2008 and some early 2009 RXVs. It is still fully compatible with all of the Danaher and Curtis RXVs, unlike the HD and aftermarket motor brakes that won't work properly with many Danaher controllers. The motor brake FET in those earlier controllers cannot pass as much current to the motor brake coil without tripping a motor brake error. The Curtis controllers use a higher current FET and have a wider test pass window for motor brake current.

I have a 2009 RXV and just installed the HD motor brake. I have been using it for about a week, and have not had any problems. Are you saying that it doesn't work with some Danahar controllers, but may work with some? Should I be sending this back and ordering an OEM one? Thanks

If you're not having trouble with it yet, most likely you will in the near future. It draws more brake coil current than the Danaher controllers are designed to deliver. It can eventually damage the controller, requiring the controller to be sent out for repair or replacement. Before the controller fails, it will start to become erratic and difficult to troubleshoot. The OEM motor brake has a typical impedance of 25.5 ohms and the HD motor brake has a typical impedance of 21 ohms, measured with an ohmmeter.
