EZGO No Go Wife not happy!
I have 2006 gas TXT. I put a 5" lift kit on and a 1" shorter belt and drove it around the yard. It ran fine. Neighbor came over so I gave him a ride and went about a 1/2 block and it just died. Turns over fine but won't start.
Here is what I have checked: - has spark - pumps fuel - new fuel filter - has compression - Valve adjustment ok - new air filter - new plugs - have power through key switch when turning over I am not sure what else to check. The holiday is coming and the wife is not happy. (her cart) Please help! |

My 5" lift kit resulted in wiring from the firewall to the engine being tugged on. You might look again at that, also your carb is now at a new angle...float adjustment?

Re: EZGO No Go Wife not happy!
Thank you for the reply.
I have the body stripped completely off to install a new one. The break cable was the only thing that i found to be tight but I will check again. I wondered about the angle of the engine. I poured a little gas in the carb and it did not even sputter or try to start. I think it is electrical. When the plugs fire do they have a bright spark or is it dimmer? |

Should be fairly bright.... are plugs wet with fuel?

Not soaked with fuel but had a nice tan color. Found a thread talking about adjusting the float with a lift. Will look into that tonight.
My gut feel is still something electrical. Will attempt to check resitance on the coil also tonight. |

I am certain that I put 1.5 qts of oil in when I changed the oil a couple of weeks ago but I should probably check that as well.

Re: EZGO No Go Wife not happy!
Well that was unexpected. A cable that runs from the box in the floorboard back to the rear axle was not moving with the pedal. I am not exactly sure what I did to fix it other than wiggle it around and make sure it moved with the pedal. I cranked the nut down at the axle end while I was at it. Runs like a top now.
Thank you to those that responded. |
