Default IMMEDIATE ADVICE NEEDED! 36 or 48volt?

I am selling my 36v club car today and will be purchasing a new lifted EZGO PDS cart. Is there a huge difference in performance between the 36v and 48volt PDS carts. I know this sounds stupid because we all know 48 is better but I have never dealt with the speed chips and wondered if that neutralized the performace disparity.
In short, am I better off sticking with a 48 volt PDS? The 36volt carts seem to be more readily available.

ps. 23" tires, 6" lift, backseat, mainly used to cruise on at a moderate speed on the street with passengers.

Thanks.

Don't believe ezgo makes a 48 volt PDS. That should narrow it down.

Thanks BIGBLOCK. I thought the same thing before I saw this ad and it confused me. I am looking to buy one to fix up myself and I saw this one that claimed to be "Precision Drive" and 48 volt. This must be a series cart I guess?

So with that said, a 36 volt PDS should be adequate with a speed chip.

Thanks!

Just make sure you look at the batts to make sure, and see if there has been a new controller put in. Also check to see the Fnr switch, hard to tell by pics but I do not see a lever by the seat.

I checked the ad and it lists a 250a controller. doubt anyone would upgrade to 48v and install a 250a controller. could be bad specs or a converted cart. ad lists dash mounted f-n-r switch. I think it is a pds cart with bad specs. a 48v conversion would likely have a larger controller and asking price.

the general opinon seem to be- if you lift a pds cart and carry 4 the controller will be on borrowed time. that time will be shorter if you run a speed chip. an alltrax 400a, solenoid and 4ga cables will fix it right up.

if you are in Columbia you are welcome to check out my 05 pds cart. it is not for sale but it has a 6" lift, 22" tires, fresh batteries, 4ga cables, alltrax 400a, new solenoid, utility bed, light kit and a stereo. might be close to what you are trying to set up. Mine is still 36v. with the performance I get I no longer plan to change it to 48v.

I recently sold a couple of 05 pds carts cheap. I hate you missed them.
