Pat, is there any danger in using the ERIC charger? I plugged it in for a short time and, according to my amp meter, it was taking a charge. I understand it may not fully charge but otherwise should work. Do you know if the ERIC charger has a sulfation mode? Definitely don't want that on the lithiuns.

Sgrol most lead acid purposed chargers will float voltage up to around 62-63v during the final phase of charging. If you put most lithium packs above about 58v bad things happen. Best case scenario the batteries are damaged and no longer any good. Worst case scenario they catch fire.

I’d buy a lithium charger and not charge them until you get one.

Yes, looking back at some of my charging logs I see upper 60s and an occasional 70v as ending charge voltage. My charger algorithm is 256. Is there any way to change this charger's algorithm to a LiFePO4 profile? ERIC charger model is IC0650-048-CC, Part # 940-0008.

My 2013 Precedent with a 21 module 48v Nissan Leaf pack. Used for maintenance so it also has a 2.5KW 240v inverter and SOC meter in the dash.

A 7 module 48v Portable Nissan Leaf pack with an LCD connected directly to the BMS for info.

A 20 module 96v Nissan Leaf pack that is currently under construction and will be going into my Club Car Villager 6.

New cells ready for a 12v 200Ah battery and it’s 200A JBD BMS.

A 12v 200Ah auxiliary battery in my Range Rover P38. It’s built into the spare wheel and can be easily unplugged and removed if the spare wheel is required. It has a 40A DC-DC charger. It currently has a Daly BMS but that is being changed out to a JBD as I’m less than impressed with the more expensive Daly.

Cheers
Pat.

I posted this in the Lithium section but thought it may be helpful here as well:

Just want to give a big thumbs up to the guys at Eco Battery. They hang out just around the corner from me and since I had a job in the neighborhood I thought I would stop by and introduce myself. I happened to stop by just as they were eating lunch but they took me in like I was family. I told them some stories of what I've read about them on here and they were totally cool (even gave me a tee shirt!) and said that they are working on getting more involved on here.

Super group of guys and just wanted to pass that on. Before we left there was even a conversation about ditching my (brand new) Chevy Volt batteries for an Eco Battery system!

I personally would not hesitate to do business with these guys if you are considering a lithium setup!
