Default My G9 find I went to look at....

OK G9 guys fill me in on this peach! I was told to look for a G16, 22 or 29 but I kind of like this thing and at the right price.....Hummmm

91 Yamaha 1.jpg

This was in CL a while back for $1200. and I called on it but never heard back from the guy.... Forward to yesterday and he calls me and says he would sell it for $750. So since its only 6 miles away I went to see this. Its more rough than the pic looks but it did start and drive..... Are these things THAT slow? I think it was only going about 9mph... in a strong tailwind!

OK He tells me HIS friend told him it will sell for $1500. ALL DAY.... HUMMMM
Then he says if I don't buy it for $750.00 he will put it in a auction tomorrow and if it sells they will charge him $100.00 if not $25.00

So I tell him I really did not want one THIS old or even running as I will throw out most of the stock stuff (I kind'a like it after seeing all the cool ones on the G9 area)

Then he asks me to make an offer....HUMMM
So I tell him one THIS old is only worth about $400-$500. to me and he tells me his friend will give him $800.00 for it Sunday! HUMMMMMM

So as I walked off he said I better jump on it because it will sell fast....HUMMM It was on CL for 3 weeks and did not sell so I told to call me if it doesn't sell.....
I kind of like it so if he calls back I'll maybe buy it... So now if I do you'z G9 kind of guys have'ta tell me ways to lift it and power it up so it will at least do 20mph! Heck my Toro does 19mph and feels like a rocket and it weights almost 1900 lbs!

$750 is not to bad for a running G9. With a top speed of 9 mph the governor is probably still hooked up. The seller sounds like he's full of $hit though......offer him $675 and if he doesn't take it then I'd walk. Good luck with it.

Can be set to go about 18-19mph by cranking the governor nut tighter, or flip the spring around the front of the arm for 21mph. Bigger tires will increase speed. $750 aint a bad deal for a running G9. First thing to do is check out the clutches & belts condition (they can affect speed).

Hey G9 guys are all the G series Yamaha carts as narrow as this G9? The reason I ask is this cart when the owner got in it with me was shoulder to shoulder .... I'm a big guy with very wide shoulders so maybe a G9 is not my cart. Are G16, 22 or 29 any wider? I think the new ones must be as when I looked at one at a dealer him and I had more room at the shoulders....? I don't want to waste my time if they are the same as this G9.

Yes, the newer ones are 48" wide, G2's and 9's are three inches less.

That one is a G2 and has a rev control on it. The G9 does not.

I was told its a '91 G9 ..so it was a G2? So I guess my quest is for a G16 or better... Are EZGO carts as wide as a G16?

Well he called me and said he took it to the auction but it did not sell....HUMMM
He said he "bid it back" and asked if I wanted it for $575.00 but I'm going to pass and look for a newer one.
