Default Leaking at exhaust gasket

Okay. First of all I know I need to replace my exhaust gasket. It blew out last night. Can't order the new one until tomorrow and most likely won't be in stock. Just want to know if that leaky exhaust (loud) gasket will cause my kart to lose power. Also want to know if I should NOT drive it until it's fixed. Don't want to harm anything if it will. Can someone let me know if I should NOT DRIVE it AND if the leaky exhaust will cause it to lose any power at all. Reason I ask is that it seems to be lacking the power it had before OR it could be my wild imagination. LOL

Is it 2 stroke or 4 stroke?

Not really "good" to run either with leaking exhaust gasket, but it has more potential to cause harm to a 2 stroke because they require more back pressure to run. 4 strokes may run a little lean depending on how bad the leak is

Sorry it's a 295 4 stroke. I will quit running it until fixed. So it will effect performance?

No wont have a significant impact on power or performance, just make a lot of noise.

If yours has it, make sure the lower muffler bolt on the frame supporting the muffler is tight. Should be behind the RR wheel. I had a workhorse keep blowing exhaust gaskets and found that bolt wasnt tight so basically all of the support for the exhaust came from the studs on the exhaust manifold at the head. Tightened that up and it never came loose or blew another gasket again

Awesome, thanks for the advice. I will definitely check the lower also. Makes TOTAL sense.
