The reason I went with these batteries is they work great in cold temperatures, I should not have any loss of power with them in temperatures down to at least zero and I will probably not be driving in those temps, but I could if I wanted and not sacrifice performance. The other reason was the simplicity of the packs, while there may be welded connections inside the packs, they are all contained and sealed. The only connections I needed to worry about was the positive and negative hookups on the top of the batteries. I chose to use heavy duty terminal blocks to make all the connection points, but in comparison to other systems out there, this is very simple, like a lead acid setup. I have no regret in using DES and the help they have given in second to none.

I hunt in conditions of 5 above to 20 above (except for this unusually warm year) all the time. So if these batteries hold up and provide long distance "runs" that lead acid's don't, then the price ...at least for someone like me who needs and use's such an item....will work very well. Thanks for you post!!

Lithium batteries work ok cold but you are not supposed to charge them if the temp is below 0 deg C. All batteries lose performance when cold but that is ok if you have extra.
