Default Clicking sound from motor

04 club car precedent, neighbor just got the cart back from the local shop, new brushes installed in the motor. The cart now has a definite clicking noise coming from the motor forward and reverse. I have never replaced brushes but it sure dosn't sound normal. Will the clicking stop after some brake in period or should the cart go back to the shop because it is not right?

The brushes do have a "wear in" run requirement. I wouldn't expect this period to be very long, maybe less than 30 minutes.

If the clicking gets quieter as you drive for a while, it is probably OK. If no improvement, I recommend disassembling the motor and recheck the brushes and brush springs for correct installation.

I have read on BGW of motor repairmen using the incorrect brush sets though. I wouldn't wait too long to have it rechecked if the clicking continues. Your motor could receive damage to the armature if they are wrong.

Thanks for the reply, I'll tell her give it 30 minutes and if it is still making the noise call the shop that installed the brushes.

Talked to the owner today she haven't driven the cart simply because she was out of town. She said she will give me a call after she has taken the cart out and she has no idea when that will be.
