I've been happy with my D&D also, but there are more reasonably priced motors out there if you're on a budget. I'm crawling through mud and soft dirt with mine and a high torque D&D motor was at the top of my need list.

Nice looking cart, blounsbury! Welcome to the obsession!

Let me start by saying that I am not an expert by any means, however I have received a ton of great advice and guidance from the experts on this board, some of whom have already weighed in on your situation.

When I bought my 86 DS a couple years ago I was in the same boat as you with the same goals for my cart. It was recommended to me by the members here to look at an upgrade/conversion package. After a bit of research I opted to go with one of Scottyb's conversion kits from cartsunlimited and honestly I couldn't be happier.

As others have said, the service and support I received was top notch and the install was pretty straightforward with all of the detailed instructions and diagrams provided by Scottyb. Not to mention the quick response I received to any of the questions I had during install.

All in all, I ended up spending more than I had originally intended upgrading the cart, but the end result is that I know the cart is "done right" and I never have to worry about sending the wife and kids out alone. Additionally it has given me a great foundation to build upon and a clear upgrade path for the future.

Just my $0.02, sharing my experience. Like I said, welcome to the obsession!

Thanks for the props cb0w
It has been 1 year since the introduction of the V2 kits.
It was a big step after 8 years of V1 production.
We could not be happier with the feedback we have gotten.
