Re: Club Car Goes In Reverse But Not Forward
Think I found the problem. F/R switch looks like it got a little warm.
Thanks everyone for your help! The offer for beers stands if you’re ever in Augusta, GA! |

Re: Club Car Goes In Reverse But Not Forward
Hi y'all,
New owner of a 96 DS 48V. I'm having this same issue. I took it out, everything was working fine, parked it and then I had no forward or reverse for a week or so. After some persistent fiddling with the key and F/R switch, I now have reverse but no forward. Possibly related, my friend (a long time cart owner) sprayed WD-40 on the F/R switch a few weeks before I started having trouble. I'm new to electric vehicles but I know the basics of circuits on an academic level. I'm getting +/-8V per battery, +50V across the batteries, 50V at the motor in forward and reverse. What do I test next? Thanks in advance for your time. |

Re: Club Car Goes In Reverse But Not Forward
Definitely check your F/R switch. I wasn't able to see the damage to mine until I took it out.
Also, the WD-40 shouldn't have harmed anything. |

That's the part that makes me think it's something else. With my black lead to the battery and my red to the positive off the switch, I get 50v in F and reverse but none in neutral. The results are the same when I put the positive lead to the positive on the motor and apply the gas. 50V in F and R and none in neutral. Guess it's not hard to pull the switch and check... Thanks again! |

Re: Club Car Goes In Reverse But Not Forward
Sounds like you got a loose connection. First make sure your F/R switch isn't cooked, mine was.
After I installed the new one I was having the same problem. Turns out I didn't have the nut tight enough on the reverse side. |
