the seat backs have an aluminum mounting plate that goes in the t shaped depression. that is what actually bolts to the rear seat framework. They are on most non rear seat carts. after a rear seat you don't use those factory brackets anymore.

Both of my cars have the T-mount that yours does not have. It is just a bolt on item that is used when you don't have a back seat. If you have a back seat the T-mount is not present. Later 2 piece backs will definitely fit your cart, even without the T-mount.

Okay, I think I get it. I could use the newer seat backs IF I get a bracket adapter/plate to fit them. Wish I'd known but I can do that later I guess. Thanks, guys.

You easily fabricate that piece with a 1/4" piece of aluminum. Cut the pieces to fit in the indention of the seat back and you'll have to drill 6 holes, two to mount to the cart and 4 to mount the seat back. I didn't measure the bracket but it's around 3"x6".

This bracket is not exactly like what I have but it looks like it works the same. The seat support channel that my bracket fits into is 1" wide. Your bracket looks a bit smaller than that but as long as it fits into the seat support channel you are good.

At first, I tried to use "U" shaped hanger bolts, but there wasn't enough clearance with the body. Then I tried using a flat bar with 2 bolts (it was a Mickey Mouse attempt, see photo). The bolts are a little wide here but no matter how close I get the bolts to the "I" beam, it just won't make it.

Finally, I drilled a hole in the inner, lower flange of the "I" beam and bolted it on that way. I don't have a photo of the final result. It only gives me one bolt through each "I" beam, so it's not as strong as I wanted, but if I pull something that heavy or put enough weight on the tongue to break it, then I'm too stupid to have a hitch.
