Default PB-6 Question

I just bought a PB-6 and tested it on an OHM meter and when at WOT it goes a little over 5k. How accurate do you have to be when istalling them?? Can it read over 5K at WOT or do you have to get it right on the money???

Your PB-6 is working correctly. You do not have to make any adjustment to it. Just make sure that you have full range of lever movement during the installation.

You do want to see it go to zero.... but anything beyond the 5k is just not used.... What really matters is what does it read when connected to the throttle

What should it read? There is a reading as the throttle is engaged, but Microswitch has not closed at this point. My guess is that you want the Microswitch to engage just after the ohms start to increase, is this correct?

The micro is wired normally open. At rest, the micro should be (clicked). When you step on the GO pedal, the PB-6 lever is pulled away from the micro, and the micro goes to an (unclicked) position and the circuit becomes active.

I hope that this does not sound confusing. It has to do with how a switch is wired--- NO, or Normally Open, or NC, or Normally Closed.

SO, the pot should read 0 at rest (because the switch is wired open) and should increase in ohms until it reaches 5k (or close) at full travel.

Makes perfect sense. I was just wondering if there needs to be any fine tuning done to the PB-6 so that when the M/S engages the ohms aren't to high causing a jerky at start, but from i have read the PB-6 is ready to use right out of the box.

If I remember testing one it did have a small reading when the switch closed, powering the controller, I don't remember how much?..... Ideally I think there would be little or no reading when the switch opened....I do not know what the allowable reading would be? You will just have to set it up and see wheat you have. And make adustments from there.

Thanks Scottyb,

My controller should be here today and I will start making my battery cables this evening, and will post my results of the ohm reading at the point where M/S closes and see how it does off the line as i slowly press the gas.
