yep. removed the diode, put that big jumper in there, and left the yellow and blue alone. didn't work. could the solenoid be bad already? if so, can i throw my old one from the stock controller on for the rest of the weekend till i can get a replacement, or will it fry

you placed a jumper between the large posts of the solenoid and it didn't run? Did I read that correctly? Regardless of the yellow and blue wires, if you jump across the large posts, the cart should run otherwise you have another issue to deal with completely unrelated to a failed diode on the solenoid.

Scotty, I am installing the pot on Tues or Wed when I get one in stock. I was going to use my test pot, but I hate using my "tools" to fix a cart and then having to wait to replace my "tools" lmao.......

It will fry like an egg in a hot pan..... You should not be getting sparks even if the solenoid is fried? Disconnect the yellow and blue... tape them up so nothing shorts out..... now put the jumper cable between the 2 big solenoid terminals... does it run like that?

Awww.... It would have been fun to watch though...... Actually I have used a stock solenoid on a 400 AMP controller for a short period of time..... even running 48 volts through the stock 36 volt solenoid it still lasted over a month of hard riding to test the design.

500 AMPS is a little bit much to push through that puny stock WR though......

I install my tools all the time ... that way I get new ones.... the trick is to buy 2 of anything you need

The whole sparking thing with this cart bothers me but, it ran for hours?
