Default help purchasing a 2011 Yamaha

Good day... I started a similar thread on this in the ezgo column but need to make a decision soon so I thought I'd also post in here to get more exposure.

Anyway, I'm looking at trading my ezgo for a stock 2011 Yamaha with a backseat. See my post if you have time here...http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...-decision.html
Couple questions:
Will a stock motor and controller get 4 passengers up a hill faster than walking speed?
Do I need HD springs with the back seat?
And any other advice you can offer if you have time to read my other thread.

Thanks in advance,
Yeabuddy!

Default Re: help purchasing a 2011 Yamaha

I have a 2009 yamaha with 4-12V's. I bought it last year for $2450 and that included the PTV code, to make it go 19mph. I added a 3" Jakes lift kit, Back seat, windshield, power converter for the LED light kit and a rear view mirror. So I have $4100 into it. I GPS'd it on a flat road and I get about 18-19 out of it, with the 2 year old batteries. I am also in Wisconsin, and it does slow down on the uphill, but it is faster than my neighbor's 48V Club car. I just ordered a set of Jakes heavy duty springs for the rear for $95. They are not really needed but they will help with feeling sloppy, mostly going downhill. I will eventually convert to the 6-8V batteries and add a better controller to help with the uphill. I went from a '92 Yamaha G8 gas to this, and I love it.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck
