Default Rear end oil g19

Am I missing something or is the only way to get the oil out of the rear end on a g19 to take the cover off?

I believe so. And there's no paper/rubber gasket when you put it back on. Just use gasket maker. It's good to take the cover off to visually inspect the gears and clean out any sludge.

Might as well weld up the spider gears while I'm at it..lol...when I checked the fluid it was silver and sparkly. There also seems to be some slop in the gears. When I had the swing arm off and would roll it back and forth the wheels would roll an inch or two before the gears would touch again.

that "play" is normal in a cart axle, the gear lash is not adjustable. silicone a magnet to inside diff cover. 305cc of gear oil. aftermarket "posi kits" are available to put in stock carrier, or a real automotive "clutch-style" posi is available if you buy a Ezgo RXV carrier (bolts right in, no mods needed).

So an ezgo Rxv carrier will bolt right into my Yamaha rear end? That's good to know.

The rear end calls for 90w but all I can seem to find is 80-90...will this work?

I put in a 15 to 1 high torque gear set, in my Yamaha g19/22. The oil level at the plug seem too low. Should I put in extra some how?

i understand we are talking about electric axles here, but. i have seen overfull gas axles spit oil out the vent on top of the axle tube, so might not be a great idea. but, "to the level of the plug" is not the correct fill level in a Gas axle either....... the dana rxv electric axle uses an amount of oil that will pour a bunch out when the plug in the cover is removed, on those i measure out the correct amount and pour it in one of the axle tubes after removing the axle shaft. in any case, i wouldnt fill up to the point that oil is sitting in the axle tubes. the wheel bearings are sealed and do not rely on axle oil for lube.
