Accessory battery location for Yamaha Drive
I have a 2016 Yamaha drive, with a Madjax Gensis 300 rear seat. I can't put the battery under the rear seat, because I'm buying the drop in cooler for the rear seat
Only other place I can find to put it, is in the battery compartment But I'm having trouble finding a deep cycle battery to fit where the empty 8v battery space is inside the battery compartment Any suggestions? |

Re: Accessory battery location for Yamaha Drive
I'm looking to do something similar with a 2011 G29. I just got my cart today, so I haven't taken enough apart to know where it might be able to be placed.

Re: Accessory battery location for Yamaha Drive
Only place that I could see is in the battery compartment, or , like I did on my club precedent, mount it in the bagwell, but then I can't buy the cooler that drops into my seat , as it would hit the battery
Mine came with a reducer built in all ready, to run the headlights, but I didn't want to run everything off the main pack. |

Re: Accessory battery location for Yamaha Drive
I have been running lights, and radio off of the battery pack using the factory reducer, ever since I bought my drive about 2 years ago, and I have never had any issues with run time or battery drain.

Re: Accessory battery location for Yamaha Drive
I would go with a reducer instead of a battery. Less hassle and it's not going to drain your main battery enough to notice. Most have LED lights now and they draw very little 12V Amperage which becomes even smaller 48V amperage (by a factor of almost 4).

Re: Accessory battery location for Yamaha Drive
So the factory reducer has extra wires coming off to hook up accessories ?
I'm guessing to just fuse the accessory then ? I need to run multiple items, stereo, 14" LED light bar on front bumper, accent LED's etc I'll be glad to wire it into the reducer, but I always went with an accessory battery because I thought the reducer drains on battery, not the pack evenly ? |

Re: Accessory battery location for Yamaha Drive
A reducer drains the batteries evenly!!!!! Hooking to one or two does not. A 48V to 12V reducer will only draw about a quarter the amperage from the batteries that it is supplying out the 12V line.

Re: Accessory battery location for Yamaha Drive
You need to buy or build a terminal block for your accessories. The reducer just provides a 12V output that you can distribute. Different reducers have different current ratings on the 12V.

Got it
So black and red wires off reducer accessory block , then everything runs off the accessory block I'll probably buy something like this : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blue-Sea-Fus...lT47lj&vxp=mtr |
