Cool 36 volt cart runs will not stop

36 volt cart will not stop running when key is turned on and cart is in gear , forward .turn key off it stops and starts with key with cart on jack stands and tires are spinning .they will only stop with key switch

You have a stop switch under the floor held in with 2 screws. It may not be functioning right always allowing the solenoid to engage. Pull back the floor mat and check it out. Just make sure the key is off or at least jacked up so it does not take you out lol...you only make that mistake once

If not the stop switch, could also be the solenoid is "stuck" in the on position.

These symptoms suggest a resistor car (g1, g2, G3, g5), and Yamaha resistor cars with welded solenoid = runs all the time except for shifter in neutral (no matter key position). this one is gonna be a problem with the pedal switch or its circuit.
