Default 1999 txt smoking

Thank you for the ad. Now my problem I picked up a 1999 txt ez-go. It is blowing blue smoke out the exhaust. I reset the valves to .004 helped a little. Put when you get on it smokes bad. Any advice would be great. I am very new at the golf cart thing.

Blue smoke is burning oil. It probably needs new rings.

Are they hard to replace and is there a place I can get a manual?

You might find a manual here. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/ezgo-...iagram-id.html

Are they hard to replace?

For a mechanic, no.

For an accountant, or office worker.......probably impossible.

The engine needs to be removed, heads unbolted, and then cylinders removed from the block.

After that, you will probably find more stuff that is worn out.

Stovebolt asked if the cart was lifted because too much oil will also produce blue smoke.
The dipstick on a lifted cart is no longer accurate, and people tend to overfill them. 1.5 quarts is the proper amount.

You might want to check that before you rebuild.

Thanks I drained the oil put in 1.5 quarts still smoking. I put a new PCV hose on also. Old one was rotted. Checked and reset valves to .004 not getting any oil in the filter box or gas in oil in crank case. I am new at small engine's so I am looking all the help I can get. Thanks again

Manual is here. http://products.jacobsen.com/img/manuals/27615-g01.pdf

Changing the rings is not terrible but if you are going into the engine that far you probably should rebuild it.
