Default Trojans a must in Yamaha Drive?

I know, ANOTHER battery question.. It's almost time for new batteries in my 2011 yamaha drive. The original Trojan 875's have done great for me, but I've read Trojan batteries arent what they used to be, so people are moving to Crown or US. But, I've been told the standard flat Yamaha charger (w fan) wont top off other brand batteries, so Trojans are kinda a must. Thoughts? Wouldnt mind saving a few bucks getting something with similar AH. Thanks all!

I know the secret to proper charging most all brand batteries in Drives, go to a dealer that ordered their Drives from the factory with the DPI charger option (we do). Or go get a DPI for your Drive, it will charge all the common brands.

Is the dpi recommended just for conditioning the new batteries? Why is it better than the flimsy light factory charger? (I have a dpi for my ezgo so I know it is significantly more robust)

Is it any better than the stock Yamaha one other than being able to use it for different voltages?

It's a nice set up it's has a needle to show charge rate. It came set for Trojans batteries from factory It shows you how to set it for other batteries.
