G22E will not go more than a foot
I bought the cart & it ran great for 3 days. I have tested the batteries & the are charged at 53v. I just installed a new HD solenoid because it tested bad. Goes about a ft & wont move. I have put it up on jacks & ran through multiple voltage test. Everything seems good. On jacks I can push the pedal to the floor & nothing, I spin the back tires & push the pedal & it will go wide open. As soon as I let it stop, it won't go again until I spin the tires. Any ideas???

Sounds like motor brush problem, you have an early GE motor G22?

Ok, took the motor out & it was slap full of black dust. The main shaft has a bit of play inside the housing. The brushes actually look ok! What next? I'm stumped & need an experts advise. Thanks

Notice the left side looks untouched & the right side is shiny. Could this be my problem? I had 2 that were stuck & not sliding & 2 that were sliding. |

The brushes look like they have a lot of life left. You really don't have to change them if you don't want too

Re: G22E will not go more than a foot
I'm probably just gonna buy a set to have on hand just in case. I wonder how many people have had this problem? There was so much black dust in the motor it was causing the brushes to stick. A can of brake clean & it's like new. I guess I know what yearly maintenance I need to do to the motor now.
