Default Driven Clutch Spring

Good morning all. So this morning I put a heavier spring that I bought in my driven clutch. Took it for a test drive and now the driven clutch isn't opening up all the way. It's like it's stuck in low gear. Anyone have any ideas why it isn't letting the clutch open all the way so I can achieve top speed?

The only difference I can see is the new spring (the black one) is a little larger in diameter as you can see in the first photo but it still fits in the cam with a few taps from a rubber mallet. It is also a bit longer as seen in the second pic. Now if that spring has to sit in there freely and be able to move besides compressing and decompressing it can't do it, it's that snug on the cam.
