Where did you find the date. I have a similar model and the model and year is supposed to be below the handbrake but mine is worn.
thanks

Hi John,

On mine, the date was literally hand written on the body under the front shield. If you look at the picture in post number 7, you can see it.

I also have a GE motor in my 1998 Cushman but it is a 6.5 hp Series motor according to the manual (GE Model 5BC49JB3054 ... supposed to be 4700 rpm rating) ... I am not able to confirm all of the motor tag details because 1/2 of the tag is inconveniently covered under the motor support bracket. For your reference, the top speed with the 6.5 hp motor at 48 volts is 17 mph with my 1620 lb cart (base weight with batteries).

Have you determined your controller and wiring plans yet?

I can provide the wiring diagram from my cart if it is of any use to you.

Regards, 3CW
Thanks for the offer. I'm planning on blocking out the wiring diagram some time soon and I'll post it here for critical input from everyone. I troubleshoot complex electronic systems for a living so I understand the principal but not the practical application in every case.

Hi all,

Thought I'd update this since it's been a while. Lots of suspension design/mock up/fabrication.

Purchased air bags and shocks for the front suspension, also finalized the design of the upgraded battery box.

Finally turned a corner with the project and actually made some forward progress in the real world as opposed to the computer world.

Finished the battery tray and welded the front suspension attachment points to the frame.
