Default 1992 JG6 36v Electric won't move

Just bought this 1992 Yamaha JG6....

When the guy dropped it off I drove it around the yard 3 times (about 5 minutes)

Noticed it had "regular" 6v batteries and not golf cart batteries.....

So I it was cold as heck and I went to Rural King and picked up 6 new 6v batteries and took them home..... I installed with all new battery cables.... theres a diagram on inside of hood so I followed it and reread it 10 times minimum....

jumped in cart and turned it on and boom nothing happened....

So I thought maybe the batteries were dead so I threw it on the charger and and went home.....

Then next day I brought a meter back with me and checked the batteries and they were at 6v each so figured I was good.... jumped in a boom nothing....

read on the interwebs no "click" means its the switch so I ordered one and put it on and boom... nothing... and no click....

I found a wire disconnected on f/r switch and connected but still nothing....

what next?

What have you tested? Also, more precise battery numbers would be much better. 6.00v is more than 50% discharged.

To be honest I haven't checked anything....

Not sure where to even start...

6v on a 6v battery is 50% discharged?

Trying to emphasize the importance of accurate, detailed measurements. I don't want to waste your & my time with inaccurate or otherwise unreliable data. And if you have batteries that won't come up to a full charge, what might they do under load.
