Default Robin 350 bottom end 295 top end

Here’s my situation. I have a 1997 EZGO Medalist TXT with a Robin 295. Started ticking and stopped running. I have it out and ready to see what is damaged but I am sure it is the bottom end. In the meantime I got a call from a guy who has a 350 that has a good bottom end. I use this as a golf cart and I am not trying to make it higher performance but I know that will be a byproduct of merging these two engines. My real issue is I can’t find a 295 to rebuild so I just want an engine to run the cart. I have read two or three threads on this but most focus on performance. If it is possible, can anyone help with the main things to do to merge these two into an engine that will run? Thanks for any help. And great forum by the way.

Check out what is wrong with your engine first as it may not be as easy as you think to mix 295 and 350 parts without major mods. I could be wrong but i would err on the side of rebuilding either the 295 or the 350.

Thanks cartmaster. I pulled the engine this morning and I will crack it open later. Will update.
