Re: HEI upgrade
Let's backup, and start at the beginning. Tell us exactly what your cart is doing, and not doing.
Tell us the history of the cart. Has it ever run for you? Was it recently rebuilt? Have you changed the seals? Here are the most common reasons for a cart to not start. Leaking crankshaft seals. Piston in backwards after a rebuild. Fuel pump, and carburetor full of crap. Usually from ethanol gas. Fuel pump not pumping. Ripped lower diaphragm in fuel pump floods case. Crankcase is leaking air. Usually blown seals, blown head gasket, or crankcase halves are leaking. Another big reason to not run is low compression. The first thing you need to do is a compression test. 120 is new. 100 is acceptable. It would probably run down to around 70. Since it won't even start on ether, I would suspect low compression, or a major air leak, and then piston in backwards. This is your manual. |

Re: HEI upgrade
I just went through very similar to this no gas getting to spark plug and found my front seal had blown out on a fresh rebuild that hadn't been run yet.
