Re: Tire PSI on heavy duty TD cargo cart
Are you sure that is 150 psi and not 150 kPa?
150 kPa is 21.75 psi The maximum inflation of our 14 ply trailer tires is only 110 psi and they are rated at 3750 lbs each! Good old metric system !! |

Re: Tire PSI on heavy duty TD cargo cart
Even at 50psi to me seem high for a golf cart... I only run 15 psi on ours

Re: Tire PSI on heavy duty TD cargo cart
Stoker,
I was inflating my Polaris quad tires today and got to thinking about your tire inflation concern ... my quad tire sidewalls say a maximum inflation pressure of 36 psi. Yet a tire inflation sticker on the quad says to inflate to 4 psi front and 3 psi rear (Polaris even provided a special low pressure gauge for this). You might want to check your Taylor Dunn operating manual for the recommended tire inflation pressure as what is printed on the tire sidewall is a maximum ... which might not be optimum or even recommended in some cases. Edit - I was just looking at a few Taylor Dunn operating manuals for personnel carriers and utility vehicles ... they show tire inflation pressures of 60 to 90 psi !! So your 50 psi might be one of the "softer" riding vehicles Which model of Taylor Dunn do you have? If you get a chance, post a few photos of your ride. Regards, 3CW |
