A hub won't make the clutch spin on the crankshaft and the motor not turn. The clutch is loose.

Only other possibility is broken connecting rod. But I'd put my money on the clutch being loose.

Or is that the OP means the engine is not starting . It sure sounds like the engine is turning over but not starting.

I just tried tightening the bolt. The bolt is turning the motor. Not sure how to tighten out anymore.

So the real question is why is the primary clutch bolt turning the motor? I put a drill on it and it turns the motor but not the clutch.

Aftermarket clutch. Doesnt look like it fits right. If the bolt is bottomed out and the clutch isnt pressed onto the tapered crankshaft it's going to spin like that. Or possibly the tapered part on the clutch itself has separated internally inside the clutch and the taper is still pressed on but the clutch has separated from it.

I'd pull off the clutch and inspect it

It worked fine for a couple months. I don’t know how to get the bolt off if it’s just turning the motor. I would need a way to chock the motor

The best tool to remove the clutch is a battery powered impact gun. You should be able to hold the clutch with a gloved hand, while using the impact.

I agree but air or 120 v impact guns work also.

I’ve not tried it, but I’ve heard you can pull the spark plug, and feed a rope into fill the cylinder to keep the piston from moving. You would I presume want the valves closed to avoid any deflection, and a dang clean piece of rope!
Not the one from the kids sand box . . .
Of course you would also want to leave a bit out so as to remove it when you’re done.
