I thought about that too, but the muffler is pretty light and the pipes and everything are pretty rigid and tough it seems. The muffler shop thinks it should be ok as is.

Gonna keep an eye on it.

Nice job I’ll second what Ray said about support. Even though it’s not a heavy muffler, it’s really cheap insurance to add a bracket, or brace towards the outer end . Usually keeping an eye on it means you see it just after the damage is done - it’ll crack/break in the most expensive spot . I don’t have any pavement where I live, so things bounce a lot!

Presuming it’s a swing- arm type suspension, and the suspension and engine travel as a unit, just a small strap from that pan-hard bar to the muffler, and a big hose clamp to keep it place.
My 2 cents

I'll look closer at the suspension to see if it does swing w/the engine.

So I'd be strapping it down and not up to help support whatever weight is there?

Not Off the panhard bar that moves with the body but to the engine cradle where one end of the panhard bar mounts,

Under or over doesn’t matter, so long as the attachment / anchor point moves with the engine/suspension, not the body.

Thanks Ray - I’m not familiar with that suspension, but it looked like the end under the muffler was the suspension end making the “ other” end the body . But I have old eyes! And my drawing is pretty lame 😒
Wouldn’t any of these spots travel with the engine?

It is a lot simpler to just come up from the cradle itself BUT the point you arrow is where the panhard bar mounts to the cradle. With my 24" tires and high speeds I tore that piece apart and almost wrecked the cart. It is now triple thick. When that thing let go the cart spun around very hard. I was lucky it didn't flip.

Sorry I wasn’t very clear. What I intended was rigid “strap” maybe 1/8” thick minimum ( depending on what material) . That way it anchors the muffler up & down , traveling with the engine, and so with the ”other” end of the exhaust.

Dang! I’ll bet that was a ride. I might have ruined the upholstery

My mistake also. I thought you were suggesting strapping it to the panhard bar itself which does move up and down with the suspension.
