G9 Throwing Starter Belt
I have a lifted G9 that just started throwing the stock starter belt. I replaced it with a new belt, tightened & it did the same thing. I’m confused. Any ideas.
Thanks |

Re: G9 Throwing Starter Belt
There's only one cause of that, misalignment of SG to pulley. (Unless your drive belt is so insanely bad it "grabs & throws" your belt. That scenario is very uncommon, and only the the "most wrecked ever" clutches can manage to do that.
Unless you didnt ever even tighten it (which usually results in "massive belt slip", Not "everything flipped & ruined!". This is not a common thing ,& I bet you have something totally wrong. |

Re: G9 Throwing Starter Belt
Cheap aftermarket belts are... cheap. They can break one or more of the band inside the belt which will cause it to flip inside out and throw it off. I've never had an OEM belt do that.

Re: G9 Throwing Starter Belt
Yeah I've had cheap belts roll over/flip. That can cause it to throw as well.
