2008 Yamaha G22 question
Looking at a used 2008 G22. Listed as 400cc. $3600.
Anything in particular I should look for when test driving? |

Re: 2008 Yamaha G22 question
Well, since the last G22 was a 2007 (and its body stickers would have likely said 2006), I'd be looking at that issue first.
Otherwise, I'd be looking at maintenance, in particular the axle (and any sounds it might make). They can be easy, or expensive. It's my favorite yamaha, frame & suspension better than a Drive, awesome engine. Parts still available. Axle parts can sometimes be expensive (but 2007-2015 TEAM axle parts are far worse/gone). 2007 was my first year at the yamaha dealer. I saw the last load of G22s & the first shipment of YDR "Drives" G29. 2007 was an oddball year, 2007 G22 was available (last year), and 2007 G29 "drive" (first year) was available. Both existed in 2007 (and dont let anyone tell you otherwise) . Only one was available in 2008, the G29 "drive". They're easy to tell apart tho. Super simple way is "was your 4 cup holders in a straight row", or "4 cup holders in a cluster configuration that 'poked out'?" Heres a G22 cup holder. Only other favorite is a G1 (but you arent buying 1979-1986 era). |

Re: 2008 Yamaha G22 question
Thanks for the info! This one has the cluster cup holders. So I’m looking at a G29 drive...?
Is this one to stay away from? I don’t have to buy it, it’s just one of the better looking gas carts I’ve seen in my price range. |

400cc ? should be 357 if I'm not mistaken.

Re: 2008 Yamaha G22 question
Yes, it's a drive. And 357cc stock. Due to the lame clutches & axle with very little parts available, I might keep on looking.

Thanks for the info guys. I will keep looking.
Any other gas models that I should steer clear of? |

Re: 2008 Yamaha G22 question
Well, the Team axle was used until 2015. Also, while really cool carts, G3's & G5's are real hard to find parts for.
