Default Removing 1993 yamaha g9 shifter cables

So trying to remove shifter cables I have them all disconnected except for where they connect to the shifter arm on trans. Can these be removed individually from this arm or do you just need to remove the arm and both cables as an assembly?

You can remove them either way. The cables are very similar to bicycle brake cables with barrel ends. There are springs that hold them in place. The shifter lever on the trans is also bolted on so you can remove that as an assembly, I think it's a 10mm bolt.

Yes I see the barrels the ones I'm familiar with usually have a slot to pass the wire through and slide the barrel out the side not seeing any kinda of such slot here

Removed shifter arm after marking it and even with this off in my hand I don't see how these cables could be removed from this arm but hey the main thing is I got them off out of my way
