Default Removing ignition switch

Putting on a dash panel with my upgrades on my 95 gasser. How do you get the ignition switch out of the original panel so as to be able to put it in the new dash? I guess it unscrews somehow but as yet have been able to figure it out.

You know the "dome" with the slot it it, on the face of your dash?
It's just a protective cover!
Pry it off with a small flat bladed screwdriver...
don't worry, it's pressure fit, it'll just slide off!
and then the mounting nut will be exposed!

Then toss the dome cover, because it won't work on your new dash!

You also might consiter getting a backing nut or nylon washers, so your switch won't stick out too far!

Disconnect one end of the battery first! It is too easy to short something out in there!

And here I been trying to turn that cover thinking it was screwed on..

Good advice on the battery ..BUT..I already have it disconnected and the body is off the cart...putting on a new custom one.....Does anyone know where to get the foam insulation pads that are on the body around the engine compartment? I assume they are for sound deadening.
