Re: Forward to reverse
I did check the linkage beforehand...it was fine. And I'm happy to report the fix took all of a minute. A couple words on it: 1) Though you might be inclined to just point the cart in any direction and accelerate to the shift point, suggest driving a ways out from the 'repair barn' or wherever you work on your cart, turn around, and attempt the fix in close proximity to where you'd push the cart if things go bad...saves on labor. 2) It will make a lot of noise when you do it...warn those around! 3) Probably don't need to try and force it into the other gear (reverse or forward) as that grinds the gears AND makes more noise. I'm guessing it's the initial pop out of gear under load followed by the attempt to go into the other gear that does the trick... just firmly pop it over for a second and release. WOW, this was an easy fix! Thanks BigBlockMan! |

Re: Forward to reverse
WTF???? " I cut a small square hole in the back side of the gear case, looked inside and saw the problem, used a screwdriver to get the syncro loose.... I made a small aluminum patch with a screw in each corner, with a small bead of silicone to cover the inspection hole..." I don't care where you're from that chit there is scary!

Re: Forward to reverse
Yeah... it is!
But, the way I look at it is, people do what they have to do do resolve the situation... Right or wrong... he found and fixed it... sadly, he'll have a leak in a year or two! |
