Top end the same, lots of low end torque for hills.

Re: Best way to remove driven clutch
I just replaced the spring in my 89. 1 bolt slid right off. I used a workmate wokbench to compress the 2 halves together and reinstall the split ring keeper. whole swap about an hour after figuring out how to compress the spring. Did notice a little more torque at the low end.

Re: Best way to remove driven clutch
Bumping up a nearly dead thread for further input(see, A n00b who knows how to use a forum!)
I had every intention of having my clutch in the mail Tuesday to get machined and the spring changed. It sounded simple, remove one bolt, slide it off, put it in box, done. So, I just took a simple set of tools to the lake and gave it a try. No way in hell I could get that bolt loose. I couldn't keep the motor from spinning. I tried to wedge a screwdriver on the inside and managed to get it to hold while I put quite a bit of force on it, but stopped short of going to a breaker bar. I read about using an impact, but that's gonna mean getting the motor out. Any suggestions? What about the belts? are they slack enough to just work over the sides, or do I have to take other stuff off as well? My biggest concern is the clutch itself. I see one thread where they say it just slides off by hand, others saying you need a puller, and others who say it won't move no matter what.. I guess it would help - 2005 club car, yes, I'm in the right forum. If I can get good enough information, I'll give it another go round, and I'll even do a heck of a job doing a photo heavy how to writeup on how I do it as well. Re: Best way to remove driven clutch
Welcome to BGW IMAP. Good to see you did your research first, and then posed your question. SImple answer it got's to come off! I;m not a CC guy, but 2x4 wedges between the shieve and frame might help, breaker bar is probably in order if you can't use an impact. Removing the rear wheel, after jacking it up and putting on stands, might give you some more room to manuever.....
