On the year of the Fairplay, I believe in the serial number the first 2 letters are the model, and the number following is the year. At least that is what the dealer told me I purchased cart from years ago.

Still looking for Fairplay information. Does anyone have any suggestions what would be good websites to check out? Any other forums that might be better places to find info? Getting frustrated with trying to figure this out.

Good luck, or one might say "fair-luck"..... Even as a dealer, we couldn't get much of squat .. that's why we aren't anymore.

I have a 2009 EVE, and it's doing some strange thing.

Charge the batteries, and the car indicator shows low and flashing, yet my multimeter shows 58 volts, and the cart will move for about 50 feet and then stop with the cart power indicator showing nothing.

Assuming the problem isn't the batteries, or the charger, where could this issue be coming from?

I’m hoping you might be able to help me out. I bought a FairPlay from a guy and within in a couple days the motor died. When I got underneath the cart the two of the connections to the motor looked like they had melted/burnt up. I figured I would buy a new motor, but wanted to make sure I wouldn’t just blow another motor. Is there any way for a novice like me to make sure its safe to just put another motor in it?

Thanks for the help!

Well, on mine, I found that there was a dead cell on one of the new batteries, and replacing the offending battery took care of one problem (there are some other minor ones).

Mu best advice? Call this guy: http://zarlingosgolfcars.com/

He is a wealth of information, and knows these carts well. Due to his willingness to help answer a lot of questions I had, I will be buying those things I need, even though he is far from me, and the cost would most likely be higher.

Things you should know:

These carts have a small electrical drain that the Lester charger cannot keep up with. On mine, I installed a switch so the lights, horn, turn signals, speedometer and such, could be turned off. This has helped a lot.

On charging, the Lester charger shuts off automatically. Unfortunately, it shuts off a little before the batteries are fully charged, so after charging, unplug when done, and plug back in to get the rest of the full charge.

Batteries: Check the level often, get a single point watering system, and keep up with them. Use only distilled water!

Call the guy! He will know the answer, and will tell you how to check it out.
