removing scuffs from Precedent
Anyone found any tricks or products that work well at removing scuffs from the black wrap-around bumpers on Precedents? I'm not talking about deep scratches or gouging... mostly just other colors rubbed onto the black - from other carts, posts, whatever.

Re: removing scuffs from Precedent
Bles, I refinished the black (turned grey)plastic bumpers on my sons car with Krylon Fusion satin black. Wash thoroughly with soapy water, lightly scuff with a Scotchbright, de-greased with rubbing alcohol and then the Fusion paint in three light coats. Came up like new.
Hope that helps, Chris. |

They make a satin finish, urethane bumper and trim paint for cars. Sold in auto stores like NAPA, Autozone etc.

These ones are in good shape as far as the grey that seems to come from too much exposure to the sun. Just has some places where it's rubbed on something and marked it. Especially annoying are the yellow marks on black!! They must have had a yellow sided bridge or something at the course where this cart came from. Every rental cart there had the signature yellow scuffs.

I can't say for sure but a lot of automotive bumpers are yellow plastic under the satin black coating and that may be what you are seeing is the coating scraped off.
