Default Throttle rod broke from pedal

I want to start by telling you I am pretty ignorant when it comes to fixing carts. I was driving my cart today and all of a sudden the pedal pressed to the floor and the cart would not go anywhere. When I looked underneath the cart the throttle rod was not connected to the pedal. I rigged it up enough to get me back home but it is still broke. After looking around the internet it looks like I need a transmissions cable ball joint end because I think that it what broke off. I need help because I don’t know how to install a new one. Thanks for the help.

DS-1998

Im working on getting some pictures.

Do yall think it would be a bad idea to weld the rod back to the pedal?

Item number 8 does seem to be the weak link, once rust and corrosion sets it no longer functions as designed, the socket has a spring loaded quick release coupling, you should be able to easily release the other (good end) and remove the rod from the cart, no tools required.

I agree, the ball usually breaks off. And it's the least expensive of the two.

Well I just checked. The spring loaded joint cost $.72 more At $3.72.
