Unhappy Intermittent throttle control and new to this forum...

Hello folks,
I have a 02 club car, new batteries, 48vdc system. Charger is operational and batteries obtain full charge.
Not sure of controller type. Terrain the cart runs on is both flat and up to 7% grade. Even on flats, the cart will not acheive anywhere near full speed. Just pressing the accelerator, acceleration is very jumpy. You can out walk the cart at full throttle. This appears to have happened suddenly. When operation was correct this cart would pull hills with 4 grown men as payload at approx 6-8 mph. Now a turtle can pass. I am new to these carts and trouble shooting techiques. I was told the (wiper switch) throttle control was possibly out of line. All seems good there and no damages... Could someone give me a starting point, or do I take it to a authorized repair dealer?
Thanks in advance.

if you have the multistep potentiometer(vglide), open it up and make sure the wiper is making full travel when you push the GO pedal. check the brush on the wiper for excessive wear. clean the contacts with denatured alcohol in a squirt bottle & brush. you can use 400 grit sand paper to refresh the copper surfaces if needed.

Your throttle position indication device may also be an MCOR = Black box under the passenger floor.
