I looked up that part number and the description is "BRUSH HOLDER COMP".

It didn't say anything about having brushes in it. Wasn't sure if this is what you were talking about?

Thanks for the reply!

I don't think Yamaha produces/manufactures them. Seems strange, there smaller (in size) then the original's, but I can say...it's worked for me

Have up date my Alltrax 300 controller, new style update brush rig post.... DO NOT install the new (smaller brushes) assembly with the Alltrax 300 or above controllers!!!! After only 2 months, my customer said his car died on the course. Every component of the motor was burnt to a black smelly mess of garbage Sometimes, you have to learn from your mistakes

I have no idea what the answer is...but why would those smaller brushes cause this to happen? Mine should be arriving next week. I still have the stock controller on my cart but plan on upgrading to the 300 or 400.

Smaller brushes generate lots more HEAT. I smoked my stock Hitachi motor with a controller upgrade and I was only set to 400 amps max. I replaced it with a D&D and it does not get very hot at all with similar running conditions. Bigger brushes lower the resistance at the commutator which generates far less heat.

Then why in the world would they start making smaller brushes to replace the stock ones?

I don't have an awnser for that question. But, don't worry, I've installed them with the factory Moric controller to get speed back and have never had a failure. I think the Alltrax controller, with it's "turbo/ street mode" set for very quick take off could have caused the failure. It is as quick off the line as a new AC car.

Ok. I'm hoping that the brushes will speed me up a bit. Still at 15mph. My next step was to upgrade to an Alltrax controller if the brushes didn't work...but now I'm a little hesitant. Wondering if I should just get the controller and send the brushes back.
