What he did was run 3 batteries in series and then those two in parallel and attach each one to a bank. So you could charge one bank with the solar panel while you run on the other. He had it setup for long distance runs...
I went a little crazy last week on the cart...bought a 500amp Alltrax controller and D&D speed motor. Upgraded it from a 36v to a 48v with 4 (12 volt) batteries and I'm running 6 of the solar panels for the main battery charging system and 2 solar panals for the acc battery. I also pulled the whole body off and had it sprayed a new color and ordered seat covers from this guy named otto (highly reccommend). All I need now is a 48volt charger and some way to secure it overnight - thinking a wheel boot or Viper alarm. I'll update with photos. |
