Default Need Help Asap! 36V G1

A buddy of mine just purchased an 81 G1 36V. He has purchased all new batteries, and when he went to hook up the final wire the cart wants to go in reverse and sparks when touching the wire to the terminal. After checking everything over and not finding anything wrong we took a break and came back and tried again, and it worked! Drove around for an little that night. However the next morning, it did it again. I checked the solenoids and did a continuity check where they say "normally open / normally closed" and found that the bottom solenoid (I think is reverse correct?) was visa versa. I took off the caps and found the contacts on the inside to be burned. Assuming that was problem he purchased a new one, however it STILL does it! Unfortunately I am not to great when it comes to electric carts. Anybody have any idea?

Thanks!

Something is wired wrong! Check the wiring against the correct diagram.
