I agree that if the OBC is working, You can use/adapt it for any cart.

The main differences on the OBCs is how they disable the controller when the charger is plugged in.

Some of the earlier OBCs also had functions for tell the Regen controllers when the batteries could accept a Regen current.

Neither one of the above has any effect on the DCX controller.

Thanks for the help.

So if my OBC is working fine and my charger works fine is the main advantage for converting to IQ more speed that I don't need?

Because like I originally mentioned I'm looking for torque and whatever extra speed I get is bonus. It sounds like I can get an IQ motor (which will work with Regen 2 without Regen hooked up) and keep my DCX controller's original IQ adapter I can convert to IQ later when my OBC/charger no longer works and cost me no extra money. Am I on the right track? Or is there more I'm missing?

If You have a Regen 2 cart, then it is already a Sepex system.

Converting to IQ in this context is more about using a standard harness that is compatible to IQ specs (connector pin-out) controllers.

The best option is to buy an IQ harness and Change your throttle to an MCOR.

You would use the same motor and OBC, but need a new solenoid.

Set the DCX to no more than 350-400 amps and you should get a lot more torque out of your existing motor

The 101909902 OBC is the one that was used on your 99 Regen 2. It's also the same one that was used on early IQ models and will work fine in all DS IQ cars. However, the new replacement OBC for IQ cars is the 103359401 OBC. It has different charge software and is recommended for all DS IQ OBC replacements. The Regen 2 OBC will work on IQ cars, but the IQ OBC will not work on Regen cars.

Another thing to note is that the early Regen 2 cars had an angle mount OBC (10180060. Once they adapted the controller mounting panel into the vehicle in 1998, the 101909902 OBC was introduced. The 101800608 will not work with IQ.

Cool. Thanks a lot TahoeDawg. Do you need to know what number controller I have before I call you? Or do you already know if its a 2000.5 DS

Thanks to TahoeDawg for helping me in my decision the keep my Regen 2 as long as it is working fine. I'm getting the PD Plus adapter for $40, reprogramming the DCX down to 350-400 amps (thanks to Sergio) and using my stock motor with Regen disabled. Just trying to figure out what size solenoid to get. I want to get the 400 amp solenoid for future upgrades but it that too big for only 350-400 amps and stock motor?
