new light kit
We just go a 2014 electric club cart and want to put a light kit on it that maybe in the future change to street legal. This cart will be keep down at the coast, maybe bring back in winter months. I'm all new on working on this carts but have look on Youtube and it does not look that hard. Just wondering what you might suggest on light kits and best place to buy? I see where they say one my year model needs some kind of voltage reducer. A local dealer said just hook it up to the batteries.
I'm also going to add a folding rear seat after I do this. Thanks for any help. |

Re: new light kit
A reducer (48v to 12v) will ensure that the whole battery pack supplies the energy and not just one or two batteries. Hooking directly to one or two batteries will unbalance the pack and shorten its overall life. Not to mention that you would have to run your 12v lights on either 8v or 16v.
If a dealer told me that, I would not return to that dealer. I'll leave it to my US colleagues to suggest places in the US to buy the kit but you could check with David Hicks at Revolution Golf Cars (site sponsor) and he'll steer you straight. Good luck and welcome to the forum. |
