Admiral A4 install.
06 club car precedent. 48 volt. Alltrax 500 amp controller. HD solenoid. 2g wire set.
I just installed the new motor. Admiral A4. I loaded the torque map from scotty. Took it out for a test run and it tops out at 16 to 18 mph. So I loaded the speed map and it tops our at the same. I'm on stock 18 inch tires. My stock motor would do 22. Here are the settings. What am I missing? I was expecting 23 to 25. Hopefully you can zoom in and see them. Re: Admiral A4 install.
That is a "High" torque motor, not a speed motor like the Admiral A2. That motor is larger and designed to take high loads and deliver power, not speed. The speed map will only allow it to accelerate a little faster and perform a little differently. It will not make it a speed motor by any means. The rotating assembly is just not designed for that type of RPM's....

Re: Admiral A4 install.
Return and get the A2 unless you need to have the torque.

Re: Admiral A4 install.
Gotcha. The info on the website shoes the same speed and more torque than the A2. I really hope I just have something wrong. I don't want to have to take this apart again.

Re: Admiral A4 install.
Just for grins I would try setting the speed sensor to 8 pole. You never know. Also turn your throttle rate up to about 70%, it will get you up to speed faster.

Re: Admiral A4 install.
I have had two A4's and never ever got that speed, but hope you will. I have pulled the gates off Hades cell and drug them back with it. With an A2 I have exceeded those speeds. I now prefer the FSIP motors that came out a year or two ago for sepex carts.

Wonder if Scotty will let me exchange it?

Re: Admiral A4 install.
I don't think scotty is set up to make deals. 40% charge for restocking installed parts. plus shipping. probably would get more on ebay.

Re: Admiral A4 install.
I changed from 4 pole to 8 pole. No change. I hooked it up to monitor it. 4400 rpm is all I'm getting. Seems like not high enough.

Re: Admiral A4 install.
18 is all I'm getting no matter what the setting. I'm pretty underwhelmed.
