Default Garage Door Opener Concealed Remote into an RXV

Here's a simple mod to wire a garage door opener remote discreetly into an RXV. A simple push button momentary switch was installed in the center hole plug below the front seats. The push button was wired directly to the typical remote and the assembly was discreetly installed.

Now I don't have to remember to remove the remote when we go out and park the cart. The project was fun, easy and only had a few dollars in parts.

1) Solder a couple of wires to the opener button contacts on the remote board.

2) Open the case as needed to allow for the wires.

3) Wire the momentary push button switch to the second half of the wire assembly.

4) Install the push button in the center hole plug on the RXV

5) Connect the two halves of the harness and use Extreme hook and loop adhesive backed fasteners to install the remote in a discreet location.

Looks good. I did this exact thing on our Precedent. Clean and simple.

I might have to do this on my sun classic. Nice feature.

Looks great, mind sharing which push button switch did you go with that fit? Looks like it fits spot on from the picture.

The switch was a Ulincos U16f series momentary push button (16mm/5/8" hole size). It was inexpensive and has both a normally open and a normally closed set of contacts. It also had an annular LED lit ring around the button that can be wired several different ways which I didn't use. I found it on the large supplier in the jungle's web page. There are a lot of different options and combinations from Ulincos that will also work.

When mounting it inside the RXV hole plug, I used a pair of 1"OD x 5/8"ID washers that I found in the special hardware bins at Lowes to stiffen the thin plastic plug. Worked perfectly.
