Default EZGO RXV motor test

Looking at a friends RXV that will not move. Power is at motor and the motor is spinning but cart goes no where. Changed brake to see if it made a difference and same result. I pulled the motor and checked to see if the transaxle had any problems and it seems fine. Is there a test I can do to be 100% sure it is a bad motor I am dealing with ? from what I see online these are pricey motors. Thanks!

Check the rear hubs to see if one or both are stripped.

The bad news about this is that it's almost guaranteed that your posi is ruined. When a rxv hub strips, the user often doesnt notice quickly, because the posi will push the cart with the remaining hub. Then, when the posi is all worn out, it can no longer push the cart with the remaining hub. The user now notices the spun hub, because the posi is worn out as well. A bad posi will badly affect braking when the cart is driven on less grippy surfaces, like if one wheel is on grass, and the other on the cart path. You step on the brakes, and then tire on grass just spins backwards, doing little to slow the cart.

I replaced the axle and the hub. It seems to be working fine. I'll see if he has any braking issues. Thanks for the info

And the "test it the old fashioned way, with any dc battery source" will absolutely not work for a RXV motor, just adding that for future readers.
