Won't take the code huh?

I install speed codes in literally 15-20 cars per day. Most of them Excel. Never have I had this problem. I also find it interesting that they can "Reprogram the whole car" I'd like to know what that means. If he's referring to the software in the controller that's news to me. Club Car claims they can't even do that. It's a Curtis software that only they (Curtis) can access.

I also have a 2009 Precedent (PE) Excel. As like most, I want more speed too! I called my local club car dealer (Novi, Michigan) and they want $150 to install at thier shop and said it will take 7-10 days to get the code. If they come out to install the code, they want another $70.......sounds like a rip-off to me.

Is there any other options at this point?

So what about the Excell makes it not like the high speed magnet? The controller is using the same motor, magnet and speed sensor as the IQ. Is the input to the controller from the speed sensor somehow different? Also, i have a PH precedent with speed code 4. But the cart will only do 16mph. GPS and the handheld on monitor..ive checked with the handheld that it in fact still had the 4th speed code and it does. The magnet is fine and have replaced the speed sensor. All connections throughout the cart are good. Anyone have any ideas?

I have an Excel cart with high speed magnet and it works fine and does 19mph. Specifically the cart has the grey Curtis controller 1515-5201 and is a 2012. I install high speed magnets in customers carts that dont want to pay $150 and have not found an IQ or i2 cart yet that didnt work.

G man...are you sure that the speed code 4 was inputted properly? It sounds like either Speed 3 is not adjusted all the way to 14.8 mph and possibly when speed code 4 was entered it just piggybacked off the slower speed code 3. With the handheld 4401 programmer you can adjust speed 3 and most times I have seen the carts come from the factory set in between the adjustable window of 11.4 and 14.8. If your batteries are in good condition and you have code 4 installed properly that is the only reason I can think of why you would not be getting 19mph.
