What exactly does not work when putting the high speed magnet on the Excel systems? Does this only apply to the 1515-5201 Grey controller or all Excel systems. For instance I have the 1515-5206 White controller.

The Excel controller monitors vehicle speed in more than one way. It reads field current through the orange and blue F1 and F2 wires, in addition to speed sensor pulses. If you put the speed magnet on an Excel car, you modify one of these circuits, but don't change the other one. This causes the car to surge and behave erratically. I read your post on the other thread and I got your message on eBay, to which I've responded. I have no logical explanation as to why it works on your Onward, but I've seen it first hand on several Excel cars myself and I've had several customers buy these magnet and install them on Excel cars only to experience the symptoms I describe.

Thank you for the info TahoeDawgz71. Also thank your for the magnet. I'm glad it worked out for my onward. I was concerned about the affects it would have long term on the controller. I do plan in the future to upgrade to the Alltrax but the magnet will be good for the time being.

I have an 09 precedent PQ with I believe a speed 4 put on it (bought from a local guy). I'm getting about 19mph on flat roads, struggles a little uphill, and when I let off the pedal it tries to slow down immediately (is that the Regan y'all speak of?). It also has a lift with bigger tires. What would a high speed magnet do for me as it sits right now?

A high speed magnet would eliminate the regen braking when you release the pedal and it would prohibit the car from limiting your speed while traveling down hill. Also, if your car is powerful enough to hit 19.6mph while on level ground, you may notice added speed here as well.

Is there a magnet on eBay or Amazon you would recommend?
