2013 RXV won’t back up

Reverse buzzer sounds. Solenoid clicks. Depress brake pedal hear a click and cart rocks back 1” but no more. I can press the pedal and push with my free foot and roll the cart backwards. This is on flat ground in my garage.

Runs great in Forward.

Would this ever be a motor issue?

If this is a Curtis controller are you getting pack voltage on pin 33 on the 35 pin connecter when you put it in reverse?

Pack voltage is 51.

Pin 33 has 46.5 volts to it in reverse.

Service manual says, with the wiring harness to the controller unplugged, measure resistance between the wires of the reverse buzzer.

I’m getting no reading on these wires. Am I to assume that means the reverse buzzer. is toast and the cart will not run in reverse because of it? The reverse buzzer barely makes a noise in reverse.

I cut the black wire going to the reverse buzzer. Cart still does the same thing in reverse. Just a slight rock backwards and then nothing. Still runs in forward.

Hopefully Buying a new reverse buzzer tomorrow.

Well even though my reverse buzzer was making a barely audible noise, it was the culprit for my cart not backing up.

Replaced the $30 buzzer and it now has reverse.

Glad you got it worked out but don’t cut that wire again. You got lucky. Sometimes cutting that wire can cause a feedback in the activation circuit and destroy the 5 volt circuit.

In a pinch you can also put a resistor across the circuit instead of the reversing buzzer. On a friends it was a 51k-ohm resistor to simulate the presence of a working buzzer. I did write-up on it but cannot post a hyperlink to it (because my account is too new...). Search for posting "RXV reverse buzzer delete, no-reverse solved!" on 9/19/2021.

Its amazing to me that an EZGO developer decided to program a cart to quit working when a buzzer goes bad.

Glad it was just a $30 fix, but I’ve been without reverse for a month trying to troubleshoot it.

Wasn’t Ezgo likely but Curtis and safety requirements.. Also I am kinda surprised it failed. The one in my 95 cart still works.
